Happy Easter! We have been very blessed to have a growing Faith Formation program here at St. Austin's before COVID and through COVID. We appreciate your dedication and patience through COVID, as we began our development project and as we enter the final stretch of our development project. We are excited to announce that with some creative thinking we can offer in-person Faith Formation at the beginning of school starting in August/September 2022.
Again, we appreciate all your patience and flexibility thus far, and we ask for them just a little bit longer. Each year, our Faith Formation program has been growing by twenty children, and we do not see that projection changing. As you know, we have about one more year in our MLK garage space and most meeting spaces can fit about 4 adults, not leaving us much room for large class gatherings.
As we plan to welcome our families back to campus, we ask that you take a moment to look at your calendar and your school's calendar and commit to a plan as laid out below.
We have divided our Sundays between Sundays A and Sundays B at 10 am. When you register, you will register for Group A or for Group B, depending on the Sunday meeting dates. Each group will meet on campus 10 times, and the other times either at home or among friends.
Once we have started, and after September 18, there will be no switching groups. If you see, after September 18 that your schedule does not allow for the below dates, you will be moved to home-based Faith Formation.
We will have two Parent Orientation Sundays on August 21 and 28, where you will be able to scope out our MLK space and ask questions.
For the families who are choosing to stay home-based, or stay in their pods, nothing will change from the last two years. During our Parent Orientation weekends, you can come and pick up books, or schedule a different time to pick them up. For those who are registering for Confirmation, you will hear from our Confirmation Coordinator about the meeting place and time in August.
Again, we ask for your patience, as we know things will change from now until school starts, but we are very hopeful and excited to see you return, as well as all our Faith Formation ministry programs on Sunday morning.
God Bless,
Rachel Vaughn
Director of Faith Formation
